STEP-UP project is capitalizing the results of INTERMODAL and will use the information technologies and applications to foster the multimodal passenger mobility and will identify best practices to reduce common technical and organizational problems. The project foresees 6 pilot activities that will test the implementation of the new services promoted into the mobility platform for a benefit of both - citizens and tourists - in terms of easier travel planning concerning urban, interurban and cross-border level.

Local Public Transport Logistics And Viability
Marche Region has developed several initiatives to support sustainable urban mobility policies at local and European level and it has a consolidated experience in implementation of EU projects in this field. Local Public Transport, Logistics and Viability Unit has the competence on managing mobility pattern at regional level, as established by Italian Government and by Regional Authority itself, and, as main role, the capacity to influence directly regional and local policies.

Department of Engineering and Architecture
The Research group, led by Prof. Walter Ukovich, has expertise on management of distribution networks and systems, traffic control, public transportation systems, production planning and control, logistics, innovation and evaluation problems. It belongs to The Department of Engineering and Architecture, one of the largest structures in the University of Trieste. It includes many research groups hosting a wide range of experts ready to be consulted for sharing knowledge.

Zadar Airport is one of the largest international airports in the region. Currently there are 107 people employed at Zadar Airport working within 5 different sectors. With the STEP-UP project, Zadar Airport will improve existing safety protocols by harmonizing the safety standards with the best practices and facilities implemented in major European terminals and improving the procedures.

Three conferences were organised as the Training Session of STEP-UP project, INTERREG ITALY-CROATIA funded by the European Regional Development Funds. The conferences aim to promote the knowledge of the fields of tourism, multimodality and ICT systems applied to passenger flows, and bring attention to development projects involving the Adriatic area between Italy and Croatia.
