Adriatic fisheries sector
ITACA tackles the competitiveness of Adriatic fisheries sector, fostering the introduction of blue innovation and improving the sustainability of catch activities. ITACA focuses on small pelagic (SP) fisheries, meaning the fishing activities targeted on two main ichthyic species: anchovy and sardine that represent a significant share of income for the sector in the Adriatic. ITACA project contributes factually to the growth of the SP fisheries sector setting up (WP3), testing in 7 pilot regions (WP4) and fostering the large scale application (WP5) of innovative SMEs oriented tools to increase the competiveness of SP fisheries, together with establishing a SP fisheries enterprises cluster for a co-management of Adriatic ichthyic resources oriented to sustainability.

The Agency is an instrumental body of the Veneto Region and gives its support to the Regional Committee as regards the policies on the matters of agriculture, forestry, agrifood and fishery. It operates in particular supporting applied research experimental trials, transfer of innovation and agricultural training. Veneto region’s agency is constituted by sections/areas: General Management, Administrative Section, Section for Agricultural Research and Agro-Forestry Management and Section for Innovation. Staff, about 200 people, which is composed by executives, employees/technicians and workers is able to manage domestic and / or external expertise for the coordination of any kind of experimentation, testing technology and innovative products on the various products of agriculture having at disposal dedicated facilities for the transfer of innovation, technical training and dissemination.

ISTITUTO AGRONOMICO MEDITERRANEO DI BARI
CIHEAM-IAMB is an intergovernmental organization born in 1962 under the auspices of the OECD and the Council of Europe,with 13 members of the Mediterranean Basin. The Campus covers an area of 150,000 m2 including 5 buildings, experimental and collection plots, chemical lab for food and soil,ICT and plant pathology labs, greenhouses and a Documentation Centre. Human resources consist of 46 employers and 55 consultants (including 40 researchers and 10 technicians) working in Training, Research and Cooperation. In line with the CIHEAM 2025 Action Plan, CIHEAM-IAMB plays a leading role in many cooperation activities, covering topics as the more efficient use of natural resources, organic farming, innovation transfer between research organizations and enterprises, development of sustainable food systems, institutional capacity building,integrated coastal zone management, fisheries and aquaculture

ISTITUTO PER LE RISORSE BIOLOGICHE E LE BIOTECNOLOGIE MARINE (CNR-IRBIM) – HEADQUARTER OF ANCONA
The Institute of Biological Resources and Marine Biotechnology (IRBIM) of the National Research Council (CNR) (ISMAR-CNR before September 2018) is a public research organisation. The main research activities focus on the biology and ecology of marine organisms, the population structure, connectivity and distribution of fishery resources, the ecology of microorganisms marine and microbial biotechnologies, the development of technologies for sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, observational systems for the study of the seas, coastal management and planning, and the conservation of biodiversity. CNR-IRBIM represents the leading research institute in the Adriatic Sea for the stock assessment of the most important commercial fish species, and particularly it collects data about the small pelagic species (anchovy and sardine) since 1975 and produces yearly evaluation useful to address management decisions. The Institute is involved in a large number of successful international projects, being also the leader partners for some of these.

PI RERA S.D. is regional development agency, and interdisciplinary institution established by Split-Dalmatia County (regional self-government body) for the purpose of preparation and implementation of projects related to the regional development. The Institution implements the projects and undertakes other necessary activities that are closely connected to the: - Regional development and competitive economy - Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurial zones - Strategy of branding and Strengthening County recognition - Protection of nature and environment - Rural tourism development and development of new products in tourism Although established by the regional self-government unit, RERA SD is independent in organizational, institutional and financial sense.

CONFCOOPERATIVE REGIONAL UNION OF THE VENETO

Confcooperative Veneto is a representative body that groups more than 1,100 cooperatives in several economic sectors, including agro-food and fisheries. It acts through 7 federations, one of these, the organization that will participate actively in the project, is “Federcoopesca Veneto”. It is the representative of the majority of operators of fisheries and aquaculture sectors in Veneto region. By its technical competences and role, it promotes among its associated the protection of the peculiarities of the regional fishing sector and the introduction of specific rules and behaviours set out at EU and Mediterranean level, designed to ensure sustainable fisheries from an economic, social and environmental point of view. Alongside the promotion of cooperation among its associates, Federcoopesca Veneto performs technical assistance and professional development and coaching of its members, services which actively contribute to the economic development of all its companies.

Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries thanks to its long and outstanding scientific activity and the fact that it has pafticipate either as LP or not in a large number of successful intemational proiects is more than relevant paftner. Our scientists, dealing with the small petagic flsh specles beside basic biological and ecological researches, are ignty involved in many national and intemational scientiftc working group-that are assesstng and predicting small pelagic fish stocks in the Adriatic. They were also involved in creation of Croatian Management plan for ,"Srdelara" purse seine net that pimarily is catching sardine and anchovy
