SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE
To improve the climate change monitoring and planning of adaptation measures tackling specific effects, in the cooperation area.

The proposed actions aim at promoting local and regional resilience by developing the knowledge base required to identify suitable climate adaptation and planning options. The goal will be supported by four actions: produce high-resolution datasets and projections that provide detailed and reliable information on climate-related impacts in the regions; create a climate information system or knowledge platform for the Adriatic region containing best practices, guidance documents, legal frameworks and climate and vulnerability studies; test and integrate the knowledge platform in select Italian and Croatian pilot cities and extended urban areas where adaptation and resilience plans will be designed; maintain and disseminate the information.

Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service (DHMZ)
DHMZ is a government body in Croatia. It supports economic and sustainable development of Croatia and assists the protection of lives, goods and the environment by providing information on the following: weather, climate, hydrological and ecological phenomena and climate extremes, with the aim of mitigating their effects. DHMZ manages meteorological, hydrological and air quality monitoring infrastructure, as well as the national archives of relevant data.

IUAV University of Venice
Iuav University of Venice was established in 1926 as one of the first Architecture Schools in Italy. It still maintains its unique status. It is a design-themed university focusing on teaching, research and practice in the design of living spaces and environments (buildings, cities, landscapes and territory) and of everyday objects, fashion and graphics. It has a more recent, but well-established tradition in teaching, research and practice of visual, theatre and performing arts and multimedia.

Priority Actions Programme/Regional Activity Centre (PAP/RAC)
PAP/RAC, established in 1977, is one of the six Regional Activity Centres of the Mediterranean Action Plan, itself part of the UN Environment. Its mission is to support the Mediterranean countries to ratify and implement the Protocol on Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM Protocol), as well as to implement the Mediterranean Strategy for Sustainable Development (MSSD). The support to countries on their path towards sustainable coastal development is realized through different activities.

Union of the Municipalities of the Savio Valley

The Union of the Municipalities of Savio Valley is situated in Northern Italy (Emilia-Romagna Region) and include six towns: Cesena, Bagno di Romagna, Mercato Saraceno, Montiano, Sarsina and Verghereto. Along the Savio River valley 117, 000 citizens live on an area of 810 Km2. By participating to the project, the Union aims both at promoting resilience at local level and at identifying suitable adaptation and planning options to enable the towns to respond to future climate challenges.

Regional Agency for Prevention, Environment and Energy of Emilia Romagna
ARPAE works on monitoring and modelling of environmental components, management and surveillance of the environmental and territorial impacts of human activities, EIA of plans and projects, regional environmental information system, soil, water and air quality improvement plans. ARPAE-Simc caries out operational activities and research in meteorology, climatology, hydrology and remote sensing. It is involved in research on climate change effects, mitigation and adaptation.

Municipality of Udine

Udine is a chief town of Friuli Venezia Giulia and has about 99.518 inhabitants. It is a very important and interisting city in the middle Friuli and offers a lot of attractions for the tourists. The Municipality of Udine participates in the project with the role of testing tools for a Climate resilience plan and draw up a policy guidance to support dicision makers and population awareness.

Municipality of Cervia
Municipality of Cervia (about 30,00 inhabitants) is an located the Emilia-Romagna coast and counts a surface of 82.19 km2. The coastal area, is characterized by a high urbanization index, dominated by touristic activities, while the hinterland has mainly agricultural connotation. Besides its reputation of seaside touristic city, Cervia is well-known for its environmental and distinctive features, as the saltpans, included in the Po Delta Park of Emilia-Romagna Region, and the coastal pinewoods.

DOOR is a civil society organization whose mission is sustainable development promotion in all segments of society, at local, national and international level in the area of energy and climate change. It has two strategic priorities - climate change mitigation and energy poverty alleviation. DOOR has extensive experience in transforming scientific and expert knowledge to understandable messages and educational materials for citizens, therefore taking communication role in the project.

County adopted Coastal Plan with focus on climate variability and change.

City of Vodice
City of Vodice is a charming little town situated along the Adriatic coastline in the Šibenik-Knin County. It has nearly 10.000 inhabitants but during summer months population increases 3 to 5 times, as Vodice is a popular tourist destination in Croatia. As part of the County, City of Vodice already Plan for Integrated Coastal Development.
