For the completion of the rain garden in Biograd na Moru, Savska ulica, a public event was organised on 5 May by the City of Biograd and Zadra Nova. This particular street experienced frequent floods around a decade ago. Although the problem was eventually resolved by investing a significant amount of money into stormwater management, this approach was deemed to be too costly. Therefore the construction of a rain garden smart drainage system is considered a more economical and practical and a more enviroment-friendly solution to be adopoted.
The event saw the participation of the children of the nearby Elementary school Biograd na Moru. The children, alongside their teachers, participated in the event and learned about rain gardens and their important function in combatting floods. The children received gifts in the form of flowers from the School of Agriculture, Food and Veterinary Medicine Stanko Ozančić in Zadar, which they will plant in their school garden or at home with the motto "We planted a flower for a better world."
The event was a relevant occasion to present STREAM achievements in the territory of Zadra.
