Dubrovnik-Neretva County and Dubrovnik Port Authority presented the results of the EU SUSPORT project in Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik-Neretva County and Dubrovnik Port Authority presented the results of the EU SUSPORT project at a public event in Dubrovnik. The implemented pilot actions of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County are the procurement of two hybrid vehicles, while Dubrovnik Port Authority replaced the existing lighting in the port area with LED lighting.

The goal of the "SUSPORT" project is to improve the level of environmental sustainability and energy efficiency in ports in the program area by promoting improved cooperation between key stakeholders - institutions and in long-term management activities in this area of ​​work on both sides of the Adriatic Sea. Specifically, all the ports included in the project, after exchanging best practices, analyzing the situation and creating action plans in the area of ​​environmental sustainability and energy efficiency, started to carry out their pilot actions. At the end, the results of the project are promoted through the creation of a joint cross-border strategy on the topic of environmental sustainability and energy efficiency, which is expected to be successfully applied in other ports, both in the program area and outside it.

In addition to the listed partners from the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, the Ploče Port Authority also participates in the project. The remaining Croatian partners are: Rijeka Port Authority, Split Port Authority, Zadar Port Authority and Rijeka Intermodal Transport Cluster. The leading partner on the project is the Port Authority of the Eastern Adriatic - Trieste, while the remaining Italian partners are the Community for Economic Development Friuli, the Port Authority of the Northern Adriatic - Venice, the International University of Venice, the Institute of Transport and Logistics - Bologna, the Port Authority of the Central-North Adriatic , Ravenna, Central Adriatic Port Authority - Ancona, Development Agency - Special Agency of the Chieti Chamber of Commerce, Southern Adriatic Port Authority - Bari and Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region.

SUSPORT was contracted as a strategic project within the INTERREG cross-border cooperation program Italy-Croatia 2014-2020. The total budget of the project is EUR 7,142,000.00, and the budget of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County is EUR 260,000, of which 85 percent is co-financed through the European Regional Development Fund, while 15 percent of the budget refers to the share of own funds.
