The Municipality of Podstrana, in cooperation with REK Podstrana, organized the second environmental action on the coastal area of Podstrana, as part of the RESISTANCE cross-border cooperation project. The first eco-action was carried out in October last year, which was supported by 55 divers, during which about 1 t of waste was collected (car tires, glass and plastic bottles, tops, iron and other waste). All the extracted waste was sorted by the hardworking volunteers of Podstrane and deposited in the recycling yard.

With this eco action, the second part of the underwater part of Podstrana was cleaned, from the turnpike in Mutogras to the Port in Sveti Martin. Not a lot of waste was found, which proves that our underwater is clean, and the frequent environmental actions that are carried out throughout Podstrana also contributes.

By cleaning the coastal area, we contribute to the preservation of the marine eco-system, which is increasingly endangered by marine waste, and at the same time the coast is prepared for the upcoming tourist season in order to continue to remain a desirable tourist destination.
