HIGH LEVEL CONFERENCE IN THE FIELD OF AQUACULTURE - ARGOS project

Successful cooperation of fishermen and stakeholders from the field of aquaculture brings successful management and protection of the Adriatic Sea - the ARGOS project

As part of the cross-border project ARGOS, Zadar County - Administrative Department for Agriculture, Fisheries and EU Funds, organized a scientific conference in the field of aquaculture on April 20, 2023 in the premises of the Zadar County Institute for Competence Development, Innovation and Specialization.

Daniel Segarić, head of the Administrative Department for Agriculture, Fisheries and EU Funds, opened the conference emphasizing that Zadar County produces about 63% of the total aquaculture production in the Republic of Croatia. Valentina Šebalj, representative of the Ministry of Agriculture, presented the National Aquaculture Development Plan for the period up to 2027. Mauro Cosolo, representative of project's lead partner, emphasized the importance of the conference, which enables affiliation of Croatian and Italian stakeholders for the purpose of developing aquaculture in the Adriatic.

In the introductory part of the conference, the results of the project were presented, and following was discussion about the conducted research and innovations in the field of aquaculture. The conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the University of Zadar and Dubrovnik, the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries, the Rovinj Sea Research Center (IRB) and the CROMARIS company, as well as scientists from Italy and Montenegro.
