On 13th of July 2022, the partners of the ARGOS project met online for two meetings; the 6th for the Adriatic Advisory Council (AAC) and the 5th Steering Committee (SC).
During the morning the Lead Partner – the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, thanks to the support of external expert OGS, introduced the result of the study on “recent trends in nutrients levels in the upper Adriatic sea and how trends are linked to the sea primary production” that outlines the outstanding issue of the massive presence of invasive alien species in the upper Adriatic basin. Lav Bavčević for the Zadar County (PP8) presented important recommendations arisen from the “analysis of interactions between different typologies of aquaculture practices and the trends of Adriatic fish stocks”. The results of both studies have been definitively approved by the AAC. Scientific partners (CNR and IOF) provided new knowledges on the ongoing assessment reports for pelagic and for demersal Adriatic stocks, while all the partners updated each other on the data collection progresses, as well as on the pilot actions implementation.
The meeting has been an important occasion not only to monitor the progress of the project so far and schedule the new activities for the next implementation period, but also to go in depth in new scientific findings outlined by the ARGOS project.
